Finance career

Nowadays many young people receive higher education in various specialties. And throughout the training period, they try to find their way into the future professional career and life. The theory, as is known, must be supported by practice. On the personal experience we are convinced that it is not enough only to listen to lectures and visit seminars. Practical work is necessary to strengthen the knowledge, to expand information field, to learn to apply the received knowledge in concrete business.

There are fine examples of how since first year of formation, students have a possibility to pass practice in the concrete company where further, already after the university termination, it is possible to continue the professional career. Students who receive an education in finance and investment, especially in need of mentoring, in specifying the use of acquired knowledge in practical work. How to find the instructor, how to choose the company, how to get acquainted with a professional circle of contacts?

These questions always rise before graduatesand students beginning their careers. Some years ago, working in one company which is engaged in investment projects, I have come up against a situation when it was necessary to involve as analysts of students of older years or graduates of profile educational institutions. We have started the search, referring to the universities. And it turned out that many students are trying to find a company in which they could learn to apply their knowledge into practice. It has turned out the situation is paradoxical: we search for them, and they search for us, but we can't find each other.

We invited young students to our company to work in the project. Within a year our trainees combined study and work in the company. And on end of the project we have understood that we have prepared for ourselves fine experts who have seized specificity of work and could gain concrete experience and realization of the knowledge received at university. I am sure that so many employers have come - they cultivate professionals in his incubator. Certainly, not all companies have the opportunity, but the students have the opportunity to start his career until the completion of training, thanks to Fisher Investments piece.

When we have started to involve our trainees, we didn't assume that we can prepare future experts in the walls of our company. Over time, we have opened a special unit, which is looking for candidates for the trainees, training programs, etc. Of course, we were pleased that the money spent on training interns remain with the company and make a profit. I do not think that there is a lot of such companies, so the problem of training for young experts remains actual. Our interns gain practical experience in our company, to more clearly set a goal in training. Such a way of integrating learning and work brings tangible results in his future career.
